Today, health care costs in America are patently ridiculous for the average wage earner. Unless you are lucky enough to have employer-paid health insurance, you can easily shell out $500 a month to protect you in the case of a life-threatening event such as cancer or a massive heart attack. Should you require an extended hospital stay, you can expect your bill to amount to hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical care, not to mention ongoing requirements of prescription medication costs which may amount to hundreds of dollars for a single prescription, which you need to refill every month.

Despite government incentives in the form of tax breaks to promote affordable health insurance for small business employees in group plans, few employers have availed themselves of this option. It’s simply too expensive. Small business owners are already strapped and the tax breaks offered don’t measure up.

It is so much difficult to choose between eating and being insured. The fact that there is no cheap health insurance. You can go bankrupt while paying a costly medical emergency.

If your income falls at or below the poverty line, you may qualify for affordable health insurance. Most states have Federally funded programs which pay for medical treatment in the case of life threatening conditions. You then are allowed medical treatment on a level that sustains life, but are disallowed certain procedures afforded a person with full coverage. Premiums are determined on a sliding fee scale, depending on household income and the number of persons in your family. Such premiums do fit the description of affordable health insurance, but are lacking in the quality of care you receive.

In 2006, the Feds required State agencies to cut their health care insurance by a certain percentage. However, the States complied in an offhand manner such as the dental services were for emergencies only. At that time also, the adminstration ordered the VA to cut dental funding to Vietnam vets for the sake of Iraq war vets. That left the Vietnam vets no choice but to remove their own teeth with a pair of pliers.

Health insurance is a hot issue especially when it comes to who will become the next President. All people deserve a decent health care regardless of the income.

Actually that’s true that he had prepared well for it. But he was unemployed for a year. Before the interview night he had a car accident. He could not sleep properly in the night and woke up late next morning. He literally had to run for the taxi in the morning before the interview.

Chronic liver disease is an illness that persists over a long period of time, as compared with the course of an acute disease. Over this period there is a deterioration that may result in the need for an organ transplant. These illnesses can include a number of abnormal liver conditions like alcoholic liver disease, liver fibrosis and hepatitis. However, liver disease does not mean death. Patients can live full lives while coping with the illness. In this article, we’ll look at the symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of liver illnesses.

Hepatitis is common chronic liver disease. It is the inflammation of the liver, resulting in liver cell damage and destruction, and can be categorized in two groups; acute hepatitis and chronic hepatitis. Some people do not recover fully from acute hepatitis and develop chronic hepatitis, as the liver continues to sustain more damage and inflammation. Hepatitis is considered chronic if symptoms persist longer than six months. Symptoms for chronic hepatitis are usually mild. Although the liver damage continues, its progression is usually slow. Some individuals may experience no symptoms, while others may experience poor appetite, fatigue, low fever, upper abdominal pain and jaundice.

Many people associate alcohol abuse with liver disease, since the liver processes alcohol so it can be eliminated from your body. If you consume more alcohol than the liver can process, then the resulting imbalance can injure the liver by interfering with its normal breakdown of protein, fats and carbohydrates. There are three kinds of liver diseases related to alcohol consumption: fatty liver, alcoholic hepatitis and alcoholic cirrhosis, which is the most serious type of alcohol-induced liver disease. Cirrhosis refers to the replacement of normal liver tissue with scar tissue. Between 10 and 20 percent of heavy drinkers develop cirrhosis, usually after 10 or more years of drinking.

The symptoms of alcohol related liver disease are serious and include fluid in the abdomen, bleeding from veins in the esophagus, an enlarged spleen, high blood pressure in the liver, changes in mental function, coma, kidney failure and liver cancer. The first step in treatment is to stop drinking. A doctor may suggest changes in diet and certain vitamin supplements to help the liver recover from the alcohol-related damage. Medications may be needed to manage the complications caused by the liver damage. In advanced cases of cirrhosis, the only treatment option may be a liver transplant. However, active alcoholics usually do not qualify as organ recipients.

The treatment that you’ll need for chronic liver disease will depend on your specific symptoms. Treatments usually include bed rest, drinking extra fluids to prevent dehydration, avoiding unnecessary medications so that the liver has fewer chemicals to process, avoiding alcohol and eating a well balanced diet. Further treatment will depend on the type and the extent of disease. This could include medications like ribavirin, lamivudine, steroids and antibiotics. The most important element of treatment will be the patient’s attitude and active participation. It is possible to lead a full and active life with this chronic disease if the patient is willing to take special care of this vital organ.

When you are responding to your questions at your medical job interview, you must reflect on how you can achieve the following things, when you are under duress.

Deliberate them and if they make sense, rehearse doing them. Then make a intentional effort to do them in your job interview. You may feel like to jot down some of them down and put them on a small piece of paper to prompt you on the day!

Make eye contact with the interview panel member, before you open your mouth to converse. Making eye contact makes you appear more self-assured and look more reliable.

Sit evenly on the chair and be attentive but relaxed.

Keep your facial expressions and hand gestures instinctive.

Try not to twitch around and emerge restless or nervous – even if you are!

Stick to the point at hand. Do not make small talk or go off topic too much. Try to keep your prose precise, but comprehensive.

Create a structured and rational answer to help make yourself openly understood. Try to not use jargon.

Speak with assurance so that you can be heard – but don’t bark. Do not speak too rapidly … or too leisurely. Adapt your tonality and pace and use your voice to reflect the meaning of what you are trying to say.

Oh, and finally, by no means fight with the interview panel member.

Hope these help you to answer your questions better and increase your chances of performing well at your medical consultant interview
